Mindful Space: Empowering Young People (18–25) to Shape Kingston’s Social Spaces
Every day, we move through cafés, gyms, parks, and community venues - but how often do these places truly feel welcoming, calming, or supportive?
At Kingston Giving, we believe that the spaces around us can play a big role in young people’s mental wellbeing 🧡 - and that young people themselves should have a voice in shaping them.
That’s why we’re launching Mindful Space, a new initiative co-created with local partners and young people aged 18 - 25. Over the next few months, we’ll explore how everyday venues in Kingston can feel more inclusive, less stressful, and more welcoming for everyone.
We’re looking for a small, friendly group of young people to help us:
💡 Share ideas about what makes a space feel calm, safe, and supportive
🛋️ Test new ways of arranging and designing social spaces
📝 Give feedback on community spaces to make them more inviting for everyone
Your insights will help us transform Kingston’s spaces into places where people can pause, connect, and feel supported 💛—without it feeling clinical.
This project is made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery, with delivery support from Mind in Kingston 🧠. Together, we want to create social spaces that truly reflect the needs and ideas of the people who use them.
Interested? If you’re 18–25 and live or work in Kingston 📍, we’d love to hear from you. Help us shape spaces that feel calmer, kinder, and more inclusive ✨.
