Could driving unlock more job opportunities for young people in Kingston?

If you’re 18–25 and living in Kingston upon Thames, we’d love to hear from you.

At Kingston Giving, we’re exploring how driving skills connect to employment opportunities for young people locally. For many roles — from care and community transport to delivery and field-based work — having a driving licence can open doors. But we know that learning to drive isn’t always straightforward.

For some young people, the cost of lessons, tests and insurance can be a real barrier. Others may be unsure whether driving would actually help them access more jobs.

That’s why we’re asking young people across the borough to share their experiences.

We want to hear from you if you are:

Your responses will help us build a clearer picture of what young people in Kingston are facing — and what support might make the biggest difference.

We’re particularly keen to understand the experiences of young adults who may face additional barriers to work, including care leavers, young carers, refugees, and those with limited family support or low confidence. But all young people aged 18–25 in Kingston are welcome to take part.
